Explore is partnering with the This Week in Avalanche to get news about the Avalanche ecosystem.
Announcements
AEB, here we are!
The Avalanche <-> Ethereum bridge, build by Chainsafe, was live on Avalanche on Monday. There were a few hiccups (and Ava Labs is preparing a statement about that, stay tuned on their social channels), but everything’s set.
We are one of the 5 relayers that will sign the 3-of-5 multisig transactions, but (as always) we’re not stopping there: we already designed a new page-specific stats page for the Chainbridge contract.
The page will go live sometime this month, and will show important information about the flow of cryptocurrency from and to Avalanche, as well as a more detailed view of the relayers and natural-language updates about the transactions being made on the contract.
This is just the first step of a broader development that aims to track every ERC-20 token on Avalanche coming from Ethereum. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks.
Discover DeFi on Avalanche with Avascan
The kickstart of the Avalanche <-> Ethereum bridge has finally baptised Avalanche as the DeFi platform users want to use to avoid high transaction fees.
We already saw some DEXs make their way into Avalanche, but this is just the beginning: we’re launching the DeFi Avalanche Telegram community to track and discuss all-things-DeFi on Avalanche.
Modifications to Validator Claims
We are working hard every day to deliver the best explorer that everyone can use. But there’s so much to build still, and we’re a small team, as you know. We’re also working on expanding the team with a couple or more additions, so that we can better track, build and deliver quality software to Avalanche users.
In the meantime, we need to hold on some activities: Validator Claims now will take 5-7 business days on average to be verified, as we work to streamline and scale our processes.
This week in Avalanche
- AvalancheGo v1.2.0 released - Critical update, please update nodes ASAP. The patch fixes performance issues related to interchange transfers between X, C, and P chains.
- The Avalanche <-> Ethereum bridge (aeb) went live! And then went down because of a bug - fix has been deployed but is in final testing, bridge should be functional again soon. So far tokens worth $33 million have moved to Avalanche.
- Pangolin, a Uniswap style Dex, launched. Total liquidity currently sits at $45 million.

This week in Avascan
We have now mapped more than 350 validators both with the Validator Claim Program and our forensics work on-chain!
Also, the bridge has brought a lot of activity on the Avalanche network and, of course, on Avascan: for the first time since launching last year, we recorded 100,000 unique users in the last 30 days! That’s a huge number, and reflects perfectly the growth of AVAX as the (at the time of writing) 21st cryptocurrency by market cap in CoinMarketCap.

What’s new on Avascan
Nothing new this week: we worked around the clock to ensure that the launch of the bridge and Pangolin DEX were safe and sound and that users could see new data. There were some hiccups, as you know, but situation is coming back to normal now.
Explore the Road
- P-Chain indexing development is about to start, along with improvements to live stats on X-Chain and C-Chain and aggregated data visualisation on homepage.
We want to hear your feedback: head to our Changemap page to request new features or report bugs, and start a conversation in the #feedback channel in our Discord server or in the Telegram community.
Thank you for reading, see you next week!
